Running a business takes more hours in the day than any business owner has. I will be honest, I wish I had about 4 more hours a day to work….or at least 4 more hours a night to sleep! So, how does a business owner find time to sleep, deal with clients, look and budgets AND DO SOCIAL MEDIA?!?! While I don’t have the time to tell you how to get it ALL done, here are a few tips on how to get your social media done for the day in 30 minutes or less. Adopt these tips and you will be able to P.A.T.T. yourself on the back for doing a job well done in social media.
- Plan Your Strategy: Ok, putting together a strategy takes on a bit longer than 30 minutes. In fact, it can take hours to put together, but there is no point in doing social media if there is no longer term goal and understanding to get there. If you don’t have a strategy then don’t waste your time to read the remainder of this blog
- Add Content. Personally, we love feedly.com. Feedly allows you to add topics or website blog feeds to one platform so that content curation happens automatically without having to search daily for new content.
- Take Time to Schedule. We personally prefer Buffer as it has a great phone application and it is google plug in which makes scheduling easy peasy. The best thing about buffer and feedly combination is that is an inexpensive option to use. Once you set up Feedly and connect it to your Buffer then all you have to do is log into feedly and FEED your social media platforms.
- Talk: Last, but not least is get engaged with your followers. Social media engagement platforms help to track what fans are saying on platforms in one central location. Personally, I am a fan of Hootsuite, but there are plenty of inexpensive platforms out there like TweetDeck. Once again, I can access Hootsuite on my phone or my ipad. I can also set it up to provide an analytics report so that I know what is resonating with my fan base.
Social media, isn’t brain surgery. It requires a well thought out plan and taking time to do it right. Remember, with the right strategy and process you can get this critical part of your marketing strategy done in less than 30 minutes each day. What are you waiting on….getg going on scheduling!
